Notes & Combos
Not gonna lie, I struggled way more this season to get back to Masterball compared to last. This is probably because, as a staunch free-to-player, I did not find many of the chase cards in the current meta. Because of this, I think this deck (and some other Silvally variations) is the best chance f2players have at winning this season. You can even find Blacephalon as one of the promo cards for this season (it is also my favorite of the three arts btw).
Speaking of the deck itself. I think this deck is not super strong, it is just good enough to get the job done with a bit of patience. Relatedly, the deck is highly luck-dependent. In particular, you will need to accept that sometimes Blacephalon is in the lead, and you can't find Leaf; or pray that you find a clutch Lusamine to revenge kill a boss monster and win. I think the deck is better than Rampardos-Silvally and Oricorio-Silvally. The first has to go through the evolution process, with a super frail card on the field for who knows how long. Given the speed of the meta now, it is not optimal to do so. Oricorio is great, but the current meta is way less reliant on EX cards (precisely because of the bird) and so it has less to say for itself now than it did last season.
The only slightly unusual choice in the deck is Cyrus over PC Lady. Lady is definitely suboptimal because the monsters are all too frail to really benefit from cures in most situations. Guzma is another good alternative I tried out for a bit, but we all know to snatch undeserved victories Cyrus is mandatory.
Final meta-tip: use the Charizard theme for your cards and field so the opponent will assume you play the more popular Silvally-Zard. That way, they will not be ready for the surprise insta-punish with Lusamine.
