Notes & Combos

This deck is all about slowing your opponent down to a crawl while you steadily chip away at their board with sneaky attackers and disruption cards. The core combo of Stoutland and Banette creates a brutal lock that many decks will struggle to break through.

🛡️ Control Core – Shut Down Their Options

  • Stoutland's Guard Dog Visage forces your opponent to pay 1 extra Colorless Energy to attack if he's Active. This alone can completely stall aggressive decks.
  • Combine that with Banette’s Night Bind which prevents your opponent from attaching Energy to their Active Pokémon from their Energy Zone on their next turn.
  • Together, this creates a near-lock where your opponent can’t attach or attack effectively.

💥 Attack Options

  • Banette chips for 30 damage while locking energy attachments to the Active Spot.
  • Stoutland hits for 70 with Sharp Fang, enough to pick off basics or pressure evolving Pokémon.
  • Oricorio punishes KOs with Spiteful Dance, hitting for 80 damage if one of your Pokémon was knocked out last turn — great for tempo swings and prize trading.

🧠 Disruption Supporters

  • Team Rocket’s Grunt and Mars further slow your opponent
  • Red Card forces your opponent to shuffle their hand into their deck and draw just 3 — great combo after Mars or a KO.
  • Professor’s Research gives you the raw draw power to maintain pressure and find combo pieces.

🔁 Setup & Evolution

  • Use Rare Candy to skip straight from Lillipup to Stoutland.
  • Poke Ball help you find your 2nd Lillipup or Shuppet.
  • Low retreat costs across the board give you strong board mobility when switching between attackers.

🔄 Combo Gameplan

  • Turn 1: Set up Shuppet or Lillipup depending on matchup. Use Poké Ball or Supporters to set up your next plays.
  • Turn 2: Get Stoutland in the Active Spot to start the Guard Dog lock. Use Banette for additional denial.
  • Mid-Game: Mix in Mars, Red Card, and Rocket’s Grunt for hand control and disruptions. Punish your opponent with Oricorio if they manage a KO.
  • Late Game: Use Sharp Fang to finish off weakened Pokémon or just out-resource your opponent with the energy lock.

✅ Summary: This deck is a nightmare for energy-hungry attackers. With Stoutland slowing attacks, Banette cutting energy access, and Supporters wrecking hands, your opponent will struggle to get anything going. Perfect for players who love tactical, control-heavy decks that grind out wins with smart timing and strong positioning.
