Notes & Combos

Easy climb, felt good. I originally went with Arceus as the centerpiece until UB4. Dealing 130 wasn't enough to KO the legendary dogs (beasts, eevolution reincarnations w/e you wanna call em) consistently. Building the deck was on a whim and it paid off. Double Cyrus is the MVP.

Unlike Arceus, Pikachu EX and Tapu KOKO EX were able to put pressure quick without relying so much on the Elemental Switch to stack up energy. The times Elemental Switch showed it's strength was when I needed to attack with a recently benched mon to endure a hit, particularly Oricorio. One copy of Pichu was enough. Any more, you are vulnerable to snipe damage from Greninja and Absol. The 2-energy attackers could easily switch before losing a point.

I wouldn't change much or anything from the decklist. Double Repel was a last minute decision. The second Repel could be replaced with PCL or Sabrina, but 2 Repel made control of the field easier while able to use Research on the same turn.

Matchups were 90% generic Suicune/Ninja/Tina, and they were easy quick wins. Word of advice, you don't have to bench all your mons against Suicune. Pikachu and Tapu Koko can 2HKO a Suicune with 1 mon on bench turn 1 and 2 mons the next turn, while preserving your attacker. Arceus doesn't have that flexibility, even if the hand is ideal.
