The Pokemon TCG Pocket Operations Team have shared a message over on Social Media regarding upcoming changes to how trading works in Pokemon TCG Pocket, starting with an update coming at the end of July!

Updates to Trade Feature | July 25, 2025
Thank you for playing Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket.
There will be an update on Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at 11:00 p.m. PDT. Update time may vary depending on your device.
Wishlist Feature Added:
You can now indicate which cards you'd like to trade for when trading with other players.
You can add up to 20 cards to your wishlist from the My Cards screen; you can now also select 3 of your wishlisted cards to display on your profile.
Revisions to the Trade Feature
Trade tokens will be discontinued, and you will no longer need to consume cards in order to trade. Instead, shinedust will be required to trade ♦♦♦, ♦♦♦♦, and ★ rarity cards.
When you obtain a card already registered in your card dex, the amount of shinedust that is automatically granted will be increased to double the current amount.
You can exchange trade tokens you already have for pack hourglasses and shinedust at the Shop.

- Update time may vary depending on your device.
- Due to this update, the trade feature will be unavailable from Thursday, July 24, 2025 at 11:00 p.m. PDT to Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at 10:59 p.m. PDT.
- Players will no longer be able to trade cards they have for trade tokens after Tuesday, July 29, at 6:00 p.m. PDT, following completion of the in-game update.
